This village is very ancient. At that time this village is called "Preggadapally", with "Preggada" meaning honorable. In this village three temples are present. One of these is very very ancient. On each Shivarathri day, there is an extraordinary festival in one of the temples. The temple itself honors Lord Shiva and Parvathi's marriage.
