Another lands were purchased near by the Pederneiras Farm and in 1877, other people that were already living there, they donated land for the construction of the Chapel of Saint Sebastian of Joy.
In 1889, it was elevated for the Township category, had its name changed into Township of St. Sebastian of Joy.
