Geography

Pea Ridge is located at 38°24′56"N 82°19′17"W (38.415668, -82.321367). It is a suburban community to nearby Huntington, WV. Most of the residents of Pea Ridge either work or have retired from employers located in Huntington. Pea Ridge is named after a ridge south of the Guyan River just south of Huntington. It is centered around the road that bears the same name. When U.S. Route 60 was moved and widened to four lanes in the early 1960's, Pea Ridge Road, which was then U.S. Route 60 was divided into two sections by the new replacement. Pea Ridge Road is now divided into East and West sections.
