, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Corfu, of which it is a municipal unit. It has a land area of 48.379 km² and a population of 4,395 (2001 census) and is located on the west coast of Corfu just south of Angelokastro. The seat of the municipality was the town of Lakones (pop. 502). The largest villages are Liapádes (pop. 958), Doukádes (678), Skriperó (642), and Lákones.

Corfu is considered to be the mythical island of the Phaeacians. The bay of Paleokastritsa is considered to be the place where Odysseus disembarked and met Nausicaa
