horse race run annually in mid-October at Remington Park
located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
. Open to three-year-olds, the ungraded
stakes is set at a distance of 1⅛ miles (9 furlongs) on the dirt. The Derby offers a purse of $400,000.
From 1989 through 1996, it was raced at a distance of 11/16 miles (8.5 furlongs).
Originally named the Remington Park Derby, in 2001 the race was renamed the Oklahoma Derby. It is the track's flagship event and the most lucrative Thoroughbred race at Remington Park.
