Early years and debut album (2006–2009)

Mark Tanner and Dylan Anderson began their ambition as musicians during high school and were a part of a group named Bless Me, Ultima with friends of theirs until personal problems lead to the band breaking up. Following that; Tanner and Anderson collaborated again in a new band named Their Eyes Look North, heavily citing Dance Gavin Dance

Canceled second album and break-up (2010)

On February 17, 2010, lead singer Dylan Anderson stated that Of Machines "might be taking a little hiatus/break for a while just get back on our feet but other than that, we're trying hard to write the second album."

However, on April 19, 2010, guitarist Mike Matejick stated that Of Machines had come to an end after several line up changes and 8 U.S Tours.
