An oenochoe, also spelled oinochoe, is a wine
jug
and a key form of Greek pottery. There are many different forms of Oenochoe. The earliest is the olpe (ὀλπή) and has an S-shaped profile from head to foot.
Oenochoe may be decorated or undecorated. Oenochoe typically have only one handle at the back and may include a trefoil
pouring spout.
The Greek Oenochoe was normally of painted terracotta pottery but metal Oenochoe are also found.
