History

Nygård International began as a sportswear manufacturer, founded in 1967 by Peter J. Nygård.

In 1978 the company expanded into the United States and in 1987 Nygård opened the company's international sales and marketing headquarters in Toronto, Canada.

Nygård International has seven product lines, including ALIA, ALIA Sport and TanJay. The Nygård Fashions brands include Peter Nygård, Bianca Nygård and Nygård Collection. Nygård Moderate also has three National Brands that are exclusively available at Dillard's in the US.
