Campus

The school is located on a 20,000 m² site in northern Jakarta. Its facilities are a swimming pool, gymnasium, futsal, playground, computer lab, theater, library, classrooms for each grade level, and a clinic for medical purposes. There are over 250 enrolled students, representing 25 different nationalities and spanning the ages of 5 to 15 years.

History

NJIS was established in January 1990, and later licensed by the Ministry of Education to provide schooling for the children of expatriates residing in Jakarta. It is classified as a Yayasan (not-for-profit social foundation) and operates as an independent, not-for-profit, co-educational day school for pre-kindergarten through Grade 10. A six-person Board of Governors oversees it. NJIS is a member of both the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools
