Johns Creek is in Region 7 in Class AAAA with geographic rivals Chattahoochee High School

, located a mere 2.5 miles away, and Lambert High School located in nearby Forsyth County. Johns Creek and Chattahoochee share an intense rivalry. The two schools are located less than 3 miles apart, and many of Johns Creek's students would be attending Chattahoochee, if JCHS was never built. Some highlights of the rivalry include then ninth ranked and eventual state champion Chattahoochee's 48-14 victory over Johns Creek, in the first football game between the two schools in 2010, as well as the Cougars' thrilling overtime victory over the Gladiators 19-16 in 2011, giving Chattahoochee a 2-0 football record against Johns Creek. Johns Creek's other major rival, Lambert leads the football series 3-1 after the Gladiators upset the seventh ranked Longhorns 23-0 in 2011. The 2009 Cheerleading squad won the AAA State Championship, allowing JCHS to become one of the fastest schools to win a state championship in the history of the State of Georgia. The 2010 Boys Tennis team would follow, also claiming the AAA State Championship.
