North Cotswold was, from 1935 to 1974, a rural district
in the administrative county
of Gloucestershire
, England.

Gloucestershire contained a large number of very small urban and rural districts, and it was decided to reduce the number by amalgamation. This was carried out by The County of Gloucester Review Order 1935, which came into effect on 1 April 1935. North Cotswold Rural District was formed by the amalgamation of the whole or part of four districts:
