, who owned a copy. In 18th century it was published under the name "Russian Cronicle According to Nikon's Copy" (Руская летопись по Никонову списку).

The chronicle covers events of 859-1520 years, with additional texts for 1521-1558, as well as detailed tales on particular events, such as "Tale of the Battle of the Neva

The chronicle contains a large number of facts not found in earlier sources. They are traditionally called "Additions to Nikon's Chronicle". Many historians, starting from Nikolay Karamzin, treat them with caution.
