History

In 1944 Vera Fry was named Director of the Nursing Education Curriculum. She was the first to give structure and organization to the newly established department. Under her directorship the Department of Nursing was established in 1947.

In September 2005, NYU's Division of Nursing moved from the Steinhardt School of Education
