State Road 11 begins at the border crossing with Mexico

 in Columbus. The road travels in a northern direction toward the city of Deming through largely rural landscape. The northern terminus of the road is Florida Road in Deming. While the road does serve traffic heading south to Mexico, the portion of Columbus Road north of Florida Road was removed from the state highway log in 1999.
