First album A Sad Cloud was released on Banazan in 2004, followed by Major Major the following year on Becalmed Records. Smith then recruited Michael Hollitscher on bass, Brett Whitmoyer on drums, Tris McCall on synthesizer, and Dakkan Abbe on guitar, this line up recorded part of the third album, 2007's Ears Like Golden Bats., though in reality much of the album consisted of Smith still playing every instrument. An EP, the first complete full-band release, is expected some time in early 2008, with another full-length on the way after that.
As of August 2008 the band is down to two members - Smith and Whitmoyer.
In December 2008 My Teenage Stride recorded a festive tune for the Christmas compilation 'An Indiecater Christmas' released by Indiecater Records.
