. The mountains have much-used hiking trails for public use and there is a small lake, called Crater Lake, near the top of Tumbledown and Little Jackson mountains. Mount Blue State Park is owned by Maine and managed by the state Department of Conservation. It is also open year round and has many snowmobiling trails as well as hiking trails. The area is a nice area to go geocaching

There are boat rentals and free fishing gear rentals among many other things. They have a large shower/bathroom building with a dish washing tub that gets cleaned every day along with many out houses scattered all over the campground. The workers there are very friendly and are there from 8am to 11pm. They sell wood,ice cubes,and ice blocks. There also is a nature center

with hand on activities. There are 136 camp sites to choose from and all differ in size. Many different trails stretching throughout the campground connect the boat launch and beach areas to the different sections of campsites. Also, there is a beach with bathrooms, a changing area, and a boat launch.
