, however, certified a 2.2 software upgrade that can be installed by anyone who owns this phone or by the service provider's store representatives for their customers. This upgrade is not certified by Motorola and requires the rooting

Hacks

Unfortunately the CBW or "Cincinnati Bell" update was nothing but a plagiary of D3xters First 2.2 update.

 website 6 months previously to the "BS Official" update CBW put out.

Due to the fact that CBW was boasting their "Official" XT720 update, actual developers stop developing on D3xters release in anticipation of a "fixed XT720". The wait was mostly due to incorrigible system hack's that disabled vital functions in the ROM's system. When CBW released their "Official" 2.2 for the XT720, true developers we're appalled. Fortunately, the developers stroked back and took the XT720.

At this time the boot-loader is still locked. Motorola promised that boot-loaders would be unlocked.

More fortunately 2 special members, resar and fjfalcon found a "work-around" for the locked boot-loader.
