Monte Lipman

Monte Lipman is an American music industry executive. He is presently the President and CEO of Universal Republic Records.

In the current era of record company transition, Lipman transformed his own start-up label, Republic Records, into an autonomous imprint in 2005 – Universal Republic Records, under the Universal Music Group.

Republic Records

Universal Republic Records

Once acquired by Universal Music Group, Lipman became president of Universal Republic Records label in 2000. Lipman’s A&R driven growth strategy welcomed Universal Records into a leading industry market share during the first year of his tenure. By 2007, the label matured into a multi-genre major with a global reach.

Philanthropy

Lipman serves on the committee of several non-profit organizations including UJA, TJ Martell Foundation, and LifeBeat. Lipman, along with brother Avery, were the Honorees for the 2007 TJ Martell Family Day and in 2010, they were named humanitarians of the year by TJ Martell.
