circa 1932. They have befriended a young lad by the name of Walter Stone with whom, every Saturday, they watch the double feature picture show. On the way to the movies, all three boys accidentally fall into a manhole and into the sewer below. Meanwhile, above ground, Walter’s parents, the Mayor, and a cadre of citizens frantically search for the missing children; albeit each with personal agendas.
Things go from bad to worse for the boys when Loyd chastises a little girl named Electa on the street above them, who in turn seeks revenge by refusing to summon a police officer and spouting Japanese proverbs

In the end, all three boys are reunited with loved ones. However, to the disgust of Loyd, Boyd, and Walter, Electa is thought by all to be their savior and is carried on the shoulders of those who sing her praises.
