 (JTTF), an arrest warrant for his arrest in violation of 18 U.S.C. $1001(a)(2) was issued on September 19, 2009. He pleaded not guilty in February 2010. He was released on a $50,000 bail on February 18, 2009.

He was convicted in July 2011 of destroying evidence and lying to investigators to cover up his son's plot. As of November 2011, he was free on bail pending sentencing on December 2011, in which he faces up to 40 years in prison.

Immigration fraud

In October 2011, he pleaded guilty to charges he forged immigration forms on behalf of a nephew of his, admitting that he had instructed a lawyer to fill out the forms to say his nephew was his son so the nephew could enter the United States more easily.
