Misr Diwan Chand was the most successful punjabi general in the history. He waqs the one who captured Kashmir and Multan. In fact more than 80% of Ranjit Singh's kingdom was won by Diwan Chand on the behalf of Maharaja. Misr Diwan Chand was the commander-in-chief of Punjab army from 1817 to 1825. He was a pillar on whose back the powerful Punjabi Kingdom arose.

Misr Diwan Chand succeeded Ghaus Khan who died in 1814 as overall commander of the artiliery . he died in 1825 and was succeeded by his brother Sukh Dial, who was removed from office for incompetence after just a couple of years.
