Henig began his redshirt freshman season again as the backup to Omarr Conner. He played in 5 of the first 8 games of the season and was named the starter before the 9th game, against Alabama

2007

Henig was named the starter for the 2007, though he faced competition from junior college recruit Josh Riddell and true freshman QB Wesley Carroll. Henig is not generally considered to be one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC, though Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt

Since the Auburn game, Henig did not start a game for the Bulldogs. After the 2007 season news came out that a chronic hip injury sustained during the 2007 Mississippi State football season had terminated his Bulldog playing career.
