On 10/17/2010 Michael Eneramo became infamous during the 2nd leg Semi-final between Al Ahly (egy) and Esperance Sportive (tun), when he launched himself towards a ball that was coming from a corner kick and quickly stuck his arm out to hit the ball immaculately with his forearm into the goal. The goal which the Esperance Sportive fans did not believe in the first 30 seconds was counted as a goal in one of the worst referee decisions that had happened on the African Continent
. Eneramo was called up for the Super Eagles in 2009 and played his first game on 11 February 2009. In his second game, he scored the opening goal against the Republic of Ireland
