Early life


Morgan grew up just outside Detroit, Michigan as the youngest of two. She started her career at the early age of 16 when she became the visual display merchandiser for well-respected fashion boutique Contempo Casuals in the 1980s. At the time, she was also heavily involved in the rapidly expanding Detroit music scene, something she cites as being a big influence on her work later on in life.

 in Manhattan. It was from there that she designed costumes for her first feature-length movie. She has since worked on over a dozen feature films whilst returning to fashion to work as a stylist. Mia has stated that having a trained eye in both the fashion and film world has given her a unique perspective on not only what works in fashion and also what looks good on screen and in a photograph.
