. It has 313 guestrooms with 56 suites, along with a broad array of amenities, including New York restaurateur, Daniel Boulud's French - American bistro, db Bisto Moderne. Other hotel amenities include a Rik Rak Salon and Spa, a Jim McLean Golf School and Pro Shop, a virtual bowling alley, 3D Media Room, stainless steel sky pool, an NBA-approved basketball court / tennis court, and a fully equipped fitness center with views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami River.
The hotel serves as a luxury business hotel, a bayview resort hotel and also a conference / meeting destination. Offering a good business setting, the hotel has over 80000 square feet (7,432.2 m²) of meeting space. Additionally, the JW Marriott Marquis is the first hotel in Florida to have an AT&T Cisco Telepresence Room - which allows people to have meetings with people in three different locations around the world.
The JW Marriott Marquis is part of the Met II development within Metropolitan Miami. Adjacent to the hotel is a 47-story office tower managed by Wells Fargo Financial and named the Wells Fargo Center. The two towers were completed in October 2010. They are the 4 and 5th tallest towers in Miami. The JW Marriott Marquis Miami is owned and operated by Met 2 Hotels LLC, and the Wells Fargo Center is owned and operated by MDM Management Group, LLC.
The Metropolitan Miami project has gained attention due to NBA star Shaquille O'Neal
's involvement in the project. He formed the O'Neal Group, a building-development company. The Metropolitan Miami project is the group's first.
