. Avey founded the now-defunct Multicultural Writers Group on AOL. After the group disbanded, Avey completed her first novel: A Lifetime Loving You, which she self-published under the Cadeau imprint for Yeva Corporation. Avey's second book: Ms. Thang's Guide to Fly was also published under the Yeva Corporation banner, but with the pseudonym of Aine A. Thang. Ms. Avey's third book, Deeply, was published in 2002.

Felice Mechelle Avey (née Wafer) was born in Odessa, TX to L.C. and Pat Wafer. Her parents divorced when she was in preschool. She was raised by her mother who worked as a secretary for the Ector County Independent School District
