Worthington made his debut for the Kings in 2006 after a standout career at Metropolitan State College of Denver under former NBL coach Mike Dunlap he won the NABC Division II Player of the Year Award 2005 was named in the 2005 NABC All-American team, 2005 Daktronics Second-Team All-American, 2005 North Central Regional Most Outstanding Player, 2005 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Tournament MVP, 2005 RMAC Player of the Year, named to the 2004 RMAC All-Tournament Team and Second Team All-RMAC East Division, also played with Metro State in 2003, 2002 and 2001 and won the 2000 Australian Championship with the Australind Senior High School and named to the All-Australian Team. Worthington was a member of the WA ITC Program 1998–2000 and is a current member of the Boomers squad. Worthington was named 2006 NBL Rookie of the Year.
Worthington was name as captain of the South Dragons for the 2008-09 NBL Season

he signed a contract with German basketball team Brose Baskets Bamberg. Worthington returned to the NBL soon though, signing a deal with the Gold Coast Blaze in September 2010.
