in 1776 and settled in Boston
after the Revolution. Richardes was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives
from 1801–1805; sheriff of Windham County
1806-1810; member of the Governor’s council in 1816.
Richards was elected as a Democratic-Republican

and 16th United States Congress
and became the seventh Lieutenant Governor of Vermont in 1830. Richards died in Vermont.
