Outside of ProElite promotion, Oshiro fought Felipe Chavez, a relative of Diego Sanchez
in the co-main event of the "Up N Up 3" card. Oshiro defeated Chavez via submission (triangle choke) less than a minute into the second round. This performance earnt Oshiro a shot in Bellator.
Despite the loss, Oshiro was signed to take part in the Bellator Season Three Bantamweight tournament, though for unknown reasons, his participation never transpired.
