Mapeera House is named after Father Siméon Lourdel (1853 -1890), also referred to in French

, the national banking regulator. The bank will also maintain a branch at this location. The rest of the space in the office tower will be rented to qualified tenants, raising income for the bank. The building will have enough underground parking to accommodate up to two hundred (200) vehicles.

History

The idea to construct the office tower was the brainchild of the Late Cardinal Emmanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga (1914 -1991), the second Uganda

 of the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, he passed away before his dream was realised. In October 2007, after ten (10) years of planning, a ground-breaking ceremony was held at the present location, presided over by Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala.

Roko Construction Limited, a Ugandan construction company was contracted to construct the building at an estimated cost of approximately US$30 million. , the construction is complete and commissioning of the building is expected in the fourth quater of 2011.
