, serving students in grades 9-12. The current principal is Mike Bonner. Maize High School is one of two high schools located within the city limits of Maize, Kansas. The school colors are red and white, although black is considered an unofficial third color. The average annual enrollment is approximately 1,300 students.

The athletic programs at Maize High School are known as the Eagles and compete in the 6A division, the largest division in the state of Kansas according to the Kansas State High School Activities Association

As of 2009, Maize High has received fifteen Achievement of Excellence Awards in the subjects of reading, writing, science, and mathematics.

Swimming

Maize High School has experienced quite a bit of success in the pool as of late. the Mens team has won the Ark Valley Chisom trail League divition I title two years in a row starting with a 200 point trashing of all other compotition in the meet at the Wichita North West YMCA. There most resent championship was won in Salina South High School by a smaller margin then they won the year before.

At State Meets they have been able to show that they are one of the best teams in the state of Kansas. having placed in the top ten the past two years, with less than 5 swimmers advancing past prelims in individual events.

Cross country

Historically, Maize High School has experienced a fair amount of success in cross country. Maize High School has won a total of seven state championships in cross country. The Eagles won five consecutive state championships in the 1950s and a total of six in the decade. Recently, Maize has also experienced success in the game of ultimate frisbee. They defeated North High School this summer in a not so legendary match played in Sedgwick County Park. This came to the chagrin of many North students and alumni. North claimed that Maize had tainted the rules and had won only because of their home field advanntage. The rematch of Maize vs. North is scheduled for Friday, November 12. The rematch will be held in Sedgwick County Park on the same field that the first match was played.
