Distribution

Maans and Manns have few villages in Amritsar and Lahore, but are mostly found in the Malwa belt of Punjab. Maana Wala along with neighbouring villages like Mohawa and a village Pherumaan are the main villages of Manns–Maans in District Amritsar. Bhullar

In western Punjab Maans are mostly living in District Nankana Sahib. Machhralah is the main village of maan family and others are walgon sohail,allawal kot,bahawal kot,khazan chan kot,etc.

The genealogical tables prepared by the bards of these four gotras are incorrect because they called them the descendants of Dhanna Rathaur, when gotras like "Mann and Sihag" existed long before Dhanna Rao. But Sihags and Manns of Western Punjab are not aware of their association with Deshwals and Dalals. They consider themselves to be the brethren of the Heer

Many Maan Jat families are also based in parts of Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh (mainly Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Saharanpur districts). Most of these families are engaged in farming.

Maan Jatts along with other Jatts were classified by British recruiters as a "Martial Race", or having perceived virile qualities and military prowess.
