MONGOL800
Encyclopedia
is an Okinawan band from Urasoe, Okinawa, Japan
consisting of three members. When they were aged 19, they released their first album. They have released five studio recordings, one single, and one live concert DVD. In 2001, despite low commercial attention, they sold over two-million records from the album Message. Several years afterwards they released more albums with just as much success.
Although Mongol800 does not advertise at all, they have released two videos that were a big surprise to their fan base.
Mongol800's music encompasses daily life, with many love songs that are heart hitting such as Ryukyu Aika, Sayonara, and the most popular song amongst all their fans; Chisana Koi No Uta. In English, it means Small Love Song.
Mongol800 also did a theme song for the anime Stitch!
, South Wind and Sun, released for the second season of the anime's run.
