MCI sees itself as an "entrepreneurial university" endeavoring to apply entrepreneurial attitudes and methods within the academic framework. MCI offers bachelor’s, master’s and executive master’s programs as well as certificate programs, management seminars, customized corporate trainings and international conferences. Besides, MCI focuses on applied research & development in different areas.
Meanwhile MCI’s staff consists of 200 persons (full-time professors, core faculty & research staff, management, administration). Besides, MCI is currently working together with approximately 800 lecturers from the fields of science, technology and business. At the moment some 2,000 students from all over the world attend MCI‘s study programs at bachelor and master level, other 500 students attend MCI’s executive master programs, postgraduate certificate courses, management seminars and customized corporate trainings.
Being part of the Open University Innsbruck concept, MCI and the Innsbruck University share infrastructure like lecture rooms, laboratories, sports facilities and cafeterias.
A co-operation agreement with the University of Innsbruck gives MCI students access to student services provided by Innsbruck University’s like for example libraries, sports facilities, etc.

MCI’s LL.M.-program "International Business & Tax Law" is offered as a dual-degree study program in co-operation with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management
(FSFM). It is evenly split between the locations of Innsbruck and Frankfurt/Main and provides the students with the opportunity to acquire the degrees of MCI and FSFM.
Certificate Programs (Classic and Compact) may be credited for MCI’s postgraduate executive master’s programs. By attending several certificate courses, additional modules and writing a master’s thesis the academic degree MBA, MSc or LL.M. can be achieved.
MCI again comes first in the 2011 Universum Student Survey. A Survey based on a representative poll of 5,500 students of economics, engineering, IT and natural sciences based on respondees’ views of the quality of such criteria as teaching, faculty, support, service, practical relevance, industry contacts, careers potential, international orientation, opportunities for study abroad, reputation and other important aspects. This is the third Nr. 1 ranking after 2009 and 2010.
The European Commission awarded MCI the ECTS-Label. Of all 27 member states only 14 universities have been awarded with an ECTS Label, and only three in the German-speaking area (June 11, 2009).

MCI comes tops in the CHE University Ranking 2011. The ranking published by the Centre for Higher Education is the most important university ranking in the German-speaking world and puts the Management Center Innsbruck in the top league in the field of Economic and Social Sciences. The MCI achieved no fewer than 33 places in the top group and was not classified in the bottom group one single time. The CHE Ranking is designed to permit comparisons to be drawn on the basis of specific criteria within the full range of university programs.
