Adams was inducted into the USA Racquetball Hall of Fame in 1997.

During her career, she won 325 of 369 professional matches, for a .887 winning percentage. An eight-time player of the year (1982–88, 1990), Adams won six pro tour season titles (1982–1983, 1985–88) and seven overall championships (1982–83, 1985–88, 1990).

Adams had health concerns throughout her career including multiple sclerosis
