Luiz then transferred to Creighton University
where he played for another 2 successful years and graduated with a double major degree in International Business and Finance.
Luiz was awarded the Jack Batty Memorial Cup, presented annually to the player adjudged to have made to most positive impact in the Chatham Cup final, as his team from Central United
won the 80th Chatham Cup
on September 2, 2007 in Auckland, beating Western Suburbs
10-9 on penalties after extra time.
Luiz Del Monte was part of the squad of Auckland City FC to represent New Zealand in the Oceania Champions League. Auckland won the Oceania Club Championship 2006
