in the early 1860's. Olivier is known for the creation of the famous salad recipe, named in honor of its founder - Olivier
. The secret of the recipe was never disclosed until his death. Lucien Olivier died in Moscow at age 45 in 1883 and was buried at Vvedenskoye Cemetery. Like his recipe, the location of his tomb was lost and was discovered only in May of 2008.
