in 1909 and then worked as an engineer for Telefunken Wireless Telegraph Company

In 1916 while at Bell Telephone Laboratories he developed the first modern coaxial cable
with Herman Affel
.
He died on June 1, 1986 at a nursing home
in Holmdel, New Jersey.
