In 1972 she briefly returned to Taiwan, where she made some television appearances. She then went on to appear in several Hong Kong films in the 1980s and 1990s, with her last appearance in the 1998 picture Bishōnen

In 1963, Chiao married Huang Tsung Hsing, and after his death in 1976 she worked more extensively behind the scenes, most notably as a dubber.
