Like in Windows XP, Linux XP has to be registered within a 30-Day trial period after installation, or the OS will deactivate. The English version of Linux XP web site is again online and provides the download link. The Russian mirror site is maintained in a more current state though; it provides a working download link and instructs that a serial number can be bought through Softkey, a Russian online store. The Russian site is active and announcing news.

Criticism

Linux XP is technically no different than the Linux distribution Fedora due to its usage of virtually all the same programs and packages from the distribution. The differences between Linux XP and Fedora may be entirely aesthetic.
