. The Liluah Railway station has 5 platforms with 3 mainly being used for the Howrah-Bardhaman Main Line and the other two for the Howrah-Bardhaman Chord Line. The Belur Math Line branches off between Liluah and Belur, There is also a line connecting Liluah and Andul in the South Eastern Railways. It is used by goods trains.

Most parts of Liluah fall within the Howrah Municipal Corporation while the remaining parts come under the Bally Municipality. The railway line divides Liluah into 2 parts.

Its takes 8 minutes to travel from Howrah to Liluah (a distance of 5 km) by a suburban local train. But the same journey takes 15 minutes when going from Liluah To Howrah due to bulk railway traffic coming in and out of the Howrah station which is the biggest railway junction in India.

Education

  • Don Bosco High and Technical School Liluah. Commonly abbreviated as DBL, this school was set up in 1937 by the salesians of Don Bosco mainly to train the local Christian population so that they could get jobs at the Liluah Railway Carriage and Wagon Workshop. The school has won 50% of the Telegraph School of the Year awards since 2007, the school ever to do so, though the neutrality of the awards is in question.
  • Liluah TRGR Khemka High School is a Bengali medium H. S. school. This school is near the Liluah railway station. The school has approximately 1000 students and 22 teachers.

This school is now at 75 years. It is a reputed bengali medium school in liluah.
  • Other schools are Swika Girls High school, MCKV and Agrasain.
  • There is a famous Engineering college named as MCKV institute of Engineering, which adds glory to Liluah.
  • There is famous school Bhattanagar Kulakamini Vidya Mandir. It is approximate 61 years old.It is a Bengali medium school.It is reputed school based on result of Madhymik Examination. This school was established by Majumder family. Main features of this school is to teach in three shift in a day,morning for girls,day for boys, evening for those who worked at day time.
  • Mirpara Donbosco Self Employment Research Institute(D.B.S.E.R.I) is a technical Institute run by saleisians groups,main courses are Civil Engineering Tech.,Tool&die maker,Construction Supervisor "A" level,Welding etc. Many people got reputed job after finish these courses.It is the one of glory of Liluah.
