Tumalip has been dubbed "The Best Village in Town", and it is a fact that this is the wealthiest among all villages in Licuan-Baay. Others include theirs as in the same level of this village, but the fact is that Tumalip is much higher. In terms of education. Tumalip still ranks #1. The Baay National High School and Baay Elementary School is both located here and draws lots of students from different villages and towns. It also has the highest percentage of literacy rate in the entire municipality.

Also in the village of Tumalip held annually the Miss Dalin-Ayen beauty pageant showcasing young ladies from the Baay side. Winners include Nolibee Layugan (2009) and Marisol Bagayao (2010).
