coming through their youth system to play in the first team. Liam was a prolific scorer for Cowden finishing as top scorer in 2005/06 and 2006/07. He left Cowden to sign for Partick and the pacey striker was Thistle's top scorer in season 2007–08 despite being out of action for the second half of the season. He usually wears number nine for the Jags and is deemed to be big prospect for the future by the Thistle management. Buchanan suffered a long-term injury from early 2008 until his comeback in October against Airdrie United. He notched 14 goals in his first season with the Jags, from 27 starts and 3 substitute appearances. Upon return to the first team, he has scored two league goals in November thus far.
