Leszek Krzysztof Borysiewicz was born in Cardiff, Wales. His parents, Jan Borysiewicz and Zofia Helena Borysiewicz née Woloszyn, were Polish immigrants. Borysiewicz studied medicine at Welsh National School of Medicine
