. He worked as an architect, first in Hobart and then in Launceston

 until 1886. He later moved to Brisbane and formed partnerships first with his former employer, Henry Hunter, and then with G.H.M. Addison starting in 1898. He was a founding member of the Queensland Institute of Architects in 1887, and was the vice president of the Institute in 1901.

Serving as Mayor of Brisbane in 1902 and 1903, Corrie died in 1918 and was buried in Toowong Cemetery
