In his first season, Roşu only featured in four league matches but, after his direct competitor was sold, he blossomed into a top flight offensive player, netting six goals in 1994–95, in 31 games, and scoring a combined 27 in his last two seasons (1998–2000, as the team finished third in both seasons). Previously, in 1997–98, as Steaua again lifted the league's cup (with three goals from Roşu), it became the first team in the country after World War II
