Laurent Chambon is a French sociologist and politicologist living in Amsterdam since 1998. Specialist of the question of minorities in politics, he has been elected in the borough of Amsterdam Oud-Zuid for the Dutch Labour Party (Partij van de Arbeid) between March 2006 and May 2010 http://www.oudzuid.amsterdam.nl/bestuur_en/stadsdeelraad/samenstelling. He was the only non-Dutch European politician in the Netherlands
