Lakma or Lakmos is a mountain in eastern Ioannina
and western Trikala
prefectures. The mountain is a part of the Pindus
mountain range. Its maximum elevation is 2,295 m and is named Tsoukarela (Τσουκαρέλα). The GR-6
/E92 and the Via Egnatia
(Igoumenisa - Kozani

) passes to the north as well as the Metsovo Tunnel in which construction started in the late-1990s and continued until the mid-2000s. Its length is approximately 30 km and its width is approximately 15 to 20 km. The Arachthos River flows to the west, the Metsovitikos
to the north and the starting point of the Acheloos is in the east, Kalaritikos to the south and Melsisourgitikos near Monodendri to the southwest. The Trikala

is bounded to the east.
Together with Dokimi between the peak of Mantra Chotza (Μάντρα Χότζα) and with Kakarditsa between the Baros peak (Μπάρος). The most popular spring of the Acheloos is founded near Verligka (Βερλίγκα, in which it is Aromanian
meaning meander) of Lakmos at the eleviation of 2,000 m.
