Geography

It was situated in south of central part of governorate, to the west of Ural Mountainous.
All uyezd’s area was located in the drainage basin of Chusovaya River, that flowed through region from south to north. Other main river was Sylva River

, the tributary of Chusovaya, that flowed through west of uyezd. More than one half of region was forested, mostly eastern part. Area of uyezd was 11,372.6 km².

Population

According 1895 data population of uyezd was 126,258, that mostly concentrated in west part of region.

Economy

In 1890 the uyezd had 379 plants and factories, the most important of them was to mining and metallurgical industry plants: Serebryansky and Kynovsky.
