Kreis Sebnitz was a Landkreis which existed in Bezirk Dresden in the German Democratic Republic
(DDR) from 1952 to 1990, with its capital at Sebnitz
.
After the reunification of Germany, the state existed from 1990 to 1994 as part of the Saxon Free State
as Landkreis Sebnitz. On 1 August 1994, it joined together with Landkreis Pirna to form the new kreis of Landkreis Sächsische Schweiz which existed until 2008.
